Robert W. Teasell, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Teasell is Chair-Chief and Professor of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Schulich School of Medicine, University of Western Ontario. He is a Clinical Researcher with the Lawson Health Research Institute and Medical Director of the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Parkwood Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Care London.
Dr. Teasell has edited 4 books, authored 28 book chapters, 152 peer-reviewed articles and 700 abstracts and invited lectures. His research interests include implementation of stroke rehabilitation evidence into practice, the rehabilitation of severe strokes and management of chronic pain disability.
The objective of Dr. Teasell’s first presentation, Efficacy of Rehabilitation for the Stroke Patient, is to examine the evidence supporting the benefit of interdisciplinary stroke rehabilitation and how to achieve optimal outcomes. The objective of his second topic, Evidence Based Research and Your Practice is to apply best-evidence clinical practice in the care of stroke patients.

Richard C. Senelick, MD
Dr. Senelick is a neurologist who specializes in Neurorehabilitation. He did his undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Illinois and his residency in neurology at the University of Utah. He is the Medical Director of The Rehabilitation Institute of San Antonio (RIOSA) and serves as the Editor in Chief of
HealthSouth Press.
Dr. Senelick is a frequent lecturer on both a national and international level. Amongst his many books and publications, he has co-authored “Living With Brain Injury: A Guide for Families”, “Living With Stroke: A Guide for Families”, and “Beyond Please and Thank You: The Disability Awareness Handbook”.
The objective of Dr. Senelick’s topic, How Technological Advances Promote Neural Repair and Plasticity, is to increase knowledge of the most current technological advances in rehabilitation that are available to support and enhance neural repair and plasticity thus improving functional outcomes.
David B. Seder, MD
Dr. Seder is Medical Director of Neurocritical Care at Maine Medical Center. He is also a member of Chest Medicine Associates and earned his medical degree at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, with Honors in Research.
Dr. Seder has completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Neurocritical Care at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center as well as a postdoctoral fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at MMC. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine and has extensive research experience in this field.
The objective of Dr. Seder’s topic, Critical Care Management of Acute Hemorrhagic Stroke is to describe current best practice for the critical care management of the patient with acute hemorrhagic stroke.
