Damage to this system, which purifies and transports fluid back to the circulatory system, is most often caused by surgery, trauma, infection, or cancer therapies (i.e., radiation).   Goals NERHP's outpatient Lymphedema Program is dedicated to: Controlling and reducing edema. Providing support and education to assist the patient in leading a full and productive life.   Services Treatment sessions last approximately one hour for two to three weeks. Following a comprehensive evaluation, sessions consist of:   Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage Bandaging Skin Care Exercise Patient/Family Education Compression Garment Fitting Outpatient Services   If necessary, sequential compression pumps are available.     Overview • Outpatient Programs
